Biodynamic Breast Analysis - getting the look and shape you want….

Contrary to popular belief the commonest reason for breast enhancement surgery is not simply an increase in the size of the breasts but rather an improvement in shape and symmetry size – in fact 70% of women coming forward for breast enhancement don’t want to increase their cup size, it’s more about shape.  Often it’s about restoring breast shape to what it was before children.

Every woman is different, and every woman has a choice – this is something we at Vive Cosmetics respect and encourage.   Additionally, confidence in the surgeon is a significant factor for women during the consultation and treatment processes.

One of the hardest aspects of the consultation is for the surgeon to show to the patient what she will look like after surgery.  To help with implant selection and to help demonstrate the expected result,  Allergan, a leading global health care company and manufacturer of a range of breast implants, have developed and introduced a new consulting tool the ‘BioDynamic Breast Analysis’ system. This system has been provided by Allergan to a select small number of cosmetic breast surgeons in the UK.  We are delighted that Peter Hodgkinson, Consultant Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon and Vive Cosmetics in Newcastle have been chosen to provide this new service.

Using the ‘BioDynamic Breast Analysis’ system Mr Hodgkinson and the patient work together to input the patient’s individual measurements, discuss the patient’s needs, desires and expectations, and the system then produces a simulation of the potential result.  Having determined the specific implant to be used the patient can then use the BioDynamic kit to see what the potential outcome would be, literally allowing the patient to try her new shape to see how it looks and feels. Alternatives can be tried until everyone is happy.  With this system, and the wide range of implants available from Allergan, we expect to achieve the optimum patient satisfaction.

Peter Hodgkinson says “Most patients have always been more than happy with the outcome of their surgery.  A very few patients come to me having had surgery who are unhappy and some of this relates to dissatisfaction with implant selection.  The advantage of the BioDynamic System is that the patient as well as the surgeon can have a real-life idea of what the end result will be like.  A BioDynamic Assessment is rapidly becoming routine as part of the preoperative assessment.  We are finding that the predicted result matches very closely the final result.  To have this system in Newcastle is a major plus for women in the North-East who are now able to benefit from the most up-to-date surgical techniques and assessments available”.

Vive Cosmetics in Newcastle, a local provider of day case surgery, is the first cosmetic provider in the region to offer this individualised approach with the BioDynamic system and are holding a Cosmetic Surgery Open Evening on Tuesday 7 April from 6.30pm.
