Rhinoplasty – Not Just for the Famous
Rhinoplasty used to be a procedure limited to the rich and
famous, but now anybody can access a nose job.
Rhinoplasty and cosmetic surgery in general used to be the
domain of the rich, famous and eccentric. But now all surgery, from
rhinoplasty to facelifts, are considered normal for just about
anybody. It's easy to dismiss the culture of cosmetic surgery that
promises the scalpel is a cure for unhappiness. But feeling
insecure or unhappy about a part of your body can impact on your
life to the extent that it stops you living freely, leaves you with
low self esteem, impinges on relationships or even your career - it
is literally debilitating. If those feelings can be lifted with a
rhinoplasty, tummy tuck or other surgical procedure, advocates of
cosmetic surgery say, well then why not?
Rhinoplasty – The Unhappiness Cure?
Many patients who have undergone a rhinoplasty have said it's
been the best thing they've ever done, transforming their self
esteem and confidence. And nose jobs are just one of the many
cosmetic procedures that have become run-of-the-mill for many
people. Wendy Lewis who has written a book about the industry:
Plastic Makes Perfect: the Complete Cosmetic Beauty Guide, says
that it's no longer a matter of 50 being the new 40, but 60 being
the new 40. Although a rhinoplasty isn't necessarily about turning
back the clock – it's about achieving a profile you feel happier
with. If you have a nose you hate, you can struggle with low self
esteem. A rhinoplasty may be the key to helping you invest in
yourself, taking more care of your body, and encouraging you to
invest in other cosmetic procedures.
Rhinoplasty – A Simple Cosmetic Procedure
The rhinoplasty and cosmetic surgery in general has come a long
way from being a procedure associated with the rich and the weird –
the extreme Michael Jackson or Jocelyn Wildenstein look (a look
that inspired the label 'the Bride of Wildenstein'). Now, a recent
survey reveals almost half of British people would consider
cosmetic surgery. The market for procedures such as a rhinoplasty
has doubled in two years, with the cosmetic industry now valued
near to £1bn. For many people if they feel miserable with a huge
nose, a simple rhinoplasty can transform how they look and how they
feel – it's no wonder demand has doubled.
