BODY SURGERY
From your very first consultation, VIVE Life Care Surgeons will
provide first class information and advice to help you identify the
treatment most suitable for your personal requirements. You will
also be given time to reflect upon your decision before any
agreement to provide surgery takes place.
TUMMY TUCK
There are two different types of Tummy Tuck
(abdominoplasty) surgery.
Full Abdominoplasty: A full tummy tuck will take place when a
patient has excessive fat deposits as well a drop in the underlying
muscle and skin layer. In some cases - if required - the surgeon
will also be able to fashion a new site for the umbilicus (belly
button).
Modified Abdominoplasty: A modified tummy tuck is more suitable
for those patients with good muscle tone but too much abdominal
skin causing the stomach to look crinkly in appearance.
Both procedures involve the removal of unwanted fat and skin
through an incision along the pubic hairline. Following treatment,
a surgeon may also recommend additional liposuction (see next page)
to enhance the overall result.
LIPOSUCTION AND LIPOSCULPTURE (FAT REMOVAL)
Dependent on a
patient’s skin condition, fat removal techniques (such as
liposuction and liposculpture) can reduce or remove stubborn, out
of proportion areas of fat resistant to normal diet and exercise
regimes.
Liposuction can provide impressive and permanent results on
hips, outer and inner thighs, knees, abdomen and buttocks as well
as (in men) the chest area (for the treatment of
gynaecomastia).
This procedure involves the surgical removal of surplus fat
through suction keyhole surgery resulting in a slimmer shape and
more proportionate contour rather than dramatic weight loss.
