Cosmetic Surgery - the Process
Initial Enquiry
Your initial call or email is handled our
enquiry handler, who will take your details and send you an
information pack, answer any initial questions you may have and
book you in for a consultation if that is what you want. You can of
course take the opportunity to receive your information pack, read
it and then make contact again to make a consultation.
A letter documenting your consultation
date and time will then be sent out to you along with a medical
questionnaire to complete and return when you attend.
Consultation
Upon arrival you check-in at reception and
then take a seat in the waiting area where you then wait until the
nurse calls you and takes you through to the Consultation
Rooms.
Our team of Consultant Plastic Surgeons
have years of experience and a consultation normally
takes between 20-30minutes allowing you the opportunity to
discuss your proposed procedure with the Consultant and
receive impartial advice. You then have a cooling off
period to reflect upon the information and make a considered and
unbiased decision on whether to proceed.
Pre assessment
This takes place once you have decided to go
ahead, you will be seen by a member of the nursing team who will go
through the Medical Questionnaire, record any previous medical
history, your height, weight and blood pressure.
Procedure Day
All of our procedures are performed as a ‘day
case’ so you would come in early in the morning and go home later
the same day. Usually you would need to arrive about 30 minutes
before your procedure time. You will need some one to collect you
to take you home and they are welcome to ring in on the day to
check on your progress.
Follow Up
Usually a wound check with the nurse one week
after procedure, then a review with Consultant after 2 weeks and as
required after that.
